First rule of home based duty success: there is nothing so bad that it won't look accommodate tomorrow. Scarlet O'Hara said it best that 'Tomorrow is supplemental day.' Many times you will feel like you are just sitting still and not getting anywhere. Don't give up and be patient. Each day you work hard will make it a little better, and things are sometimes clearer in the morning.

Second rule of home based effort success: keep who you are out of what your employment is. That means keep your personal identity separate from your holding company identity. Many people who love what they do reconvert so enmeshed in the work that there is no separating one from the other. We all need to find things outside of our jobs to give us a sense of self-worth. This way, if things get stymied or difficult, your happiness doesn't go with it.

Third rule of home based corporate body success: 'I think I can. I think I can,' should switch your mantra. We all see the roadblocks in front of us, but remember that there is unwaveringly collateral route. Don't let others' limitations stop you from your goals. And for that matter, don't let your own self-imposed limitations stop you. Think of auxiliary way to do it. Take control of your mimesis - don't let it control you.

Fourth rule of home based trade success: set realistic expectations and really think in regard to what you want. Ever heard the saying, 'be dutiful what you wish for'? If you set a goal make sure it is really what you want. Sometimes we set goals that we think we should want, and then we get there and don't know what to do with the result.

Fifth rule of home based pantomiming success: stand by your decisions. in the rear all, who knows your consolidating company needs revived than you? No one. Sometimes a lot of things happen that make you second guess yourself, even though you are making a great decision. Learn to drown out the extra noise and distractions so that you know you are making the best decision for your calling to reach the goals you really want.

How do you grow your business?

Andy is a local entrepreneur who knows that he needs to employ people. The business is Andy’s creation and the idea of managing a team is quite frightening for him. He has struggled to do all the jobs but Andy is limited to 24 hours each day, he is working continuously without leisure time and he realises that he needs help before his health and sanity suffers.

What values and business ethos do you have?

Of course, he is protective – he has run the whole business for four years, no procedures are written down, his policies for taking decisions are held in his own head and he believes that no one can improve the job he is doing. My uncomfortable task is to coach him to his goal “I want to grow, I want to delegate, I want excellent staff to multiple my efforts�.

Before starting the selection process, we struggled to write job descriptions, create work procedures and set up the office administrative processes. Doing this on his own was too hard so we found some experienced HR people to do this preparation.

Who do you hire to replace yourself?

Next we used the same help to define selection criteria and set up a recruitment campaign. Andy wanted to select with the same skills as he uses. He was also tempted to employ people who are less skilled than he is. I asked “Why not go more skill and ability if we can afford it?�

Andy knows he is the best at doing his job, so it makes sense when delegating parts of his job to bring in new people with different skills.

When do you work on the business?

After working four years in the business, Andy has now found a team to run his business. He has suddenly found how poorly the business did when he worked on his own. Now he spends at least one day a week working on the business – looking at opportunities, watching his competitors, reviewing the business goals and improving his business processes. So growing his business is not only good for his health but his wealth too.
